JEFF ALLEN & AGATA HIDALGO HEALTHY LIFESTYLE PROGRAMME
On Wednesday the 6th and Thursday the 7th of September, Jeff Allen and Agata Hidalgo visited our school.as part of The Healthy Lifestyle Programme, Agata spoke to us in depth about nutrition and the food's that we should avoid. She explained how harmful sugar is and that almost every food now contains an additive called MSG, while Jeff covered the topic of fitness and well being, he also may have mentioned once or twice, in fact, he stressed the fact that he spent 21 YEARS(!) in the special forces.
They also talked about mental health, and the 6 necessary components of living a happy, healthy life - Exercise, diet, friends and family, work, sleep and relaxation. We then headed outside, to compete in The Hunter Games. These were a series of activities and challenges. We were split into 4 separate groups for these challenges, which were thoroughly enjoyable. At the end of the second day, awards were given to the best group, and the students that Jeff felt performed well, while also showing good attitude.
Overall, I think the Healthy Lifestyle Programme was good fun, while also being of great benefit to all of the students who took part. We were pushed to do our very best, and in the grand scheme of things, I think it personally motivated me to become healthier, and happier.
